Marigold hosted our first annual Marigold Buzz conference, in Amsterdam and Paris, bringing together industry experts, clients and partners for a day of knowledge-sharing and celebration. The event was a resounding success, featuring content from expert speakers on driving lifetime loyalty, best practices for building relationships from our clients and recognizing outstanding achievements through our client awards program. One of the standout moments of the conference in Amsterdam was the thought-provoking presentation by our esteemed guest speakers, Iain Pringle. Known for his extensive knowledge of loyalty programs, Iain delivered an insightful address – complete with valuable insights into loyalty strategies and client retention. Similarly, Eric Lebailly, an expert in CRM and loyalty, delivered a keynote at the conference in Paris, offering a deeper understanding of building successful loyalty programs in a competitive business landscape.
Our event featured engaging panel discussions with client representatives from Smartbox, Sunweb, VertBaudet, VeryChic and Kinepolis. The panel offered unique insights into digital marketing strategies and best practices for delivering omnichannel marketing campaigns. The Martech Innovator Award celebrates campaigns exhibiting out-of-the-box thinking, showcasing true originality while using innovative marketing technology. The 2023 Winners included:
Brooks Running, for their campaign ‘Post Run Stretches’, which offered a strategy for engagement through blogs and emails, and resulted in increased open and click rates, as well as higher engagement throughout the campaign.
Roussel Groupe, for their Mon Actu campaign, which highlighted their personalized newsletter and data collection across multiple channels, delivering a more personalized experience for their audiences.
The Multichannel Magician Award
The Multichannel Magician Award honors campaigns that leverage at least two integrated channels in order to deliver an outstanding experience to their consumers. The 2023 Winners are:
Kinepolis, with their partner De Heeren van Veertig Plus, for their campaign ‘Movie Magic Birthdays for Kids’, which automated a birthday benefit process, reaching children through television, web, email, and a mobile app.
Vanden Borre, with their partner Springbok, for their campaign ‘Delivering on our Customer Promise’, a new journey for customers, using web traffic to trigger personalized communications and email content, as well as make recommendations for future electronics or appliance purchases.
The Game Changer Award
The Game Changer Award highlights marketing programs and campaigns that make a significant impact on the business, from growth and retention, to using marketing to drive strategy. The 2023 Winners are:
Jaguar Land Rover, with their partner Dignify, for their campaign using dynamic web forms, offering dealerships real-time visibility into the business, optimizes outreach and communication, and providing improved data synchronization.
Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), with their partner Two Circles, for their innovative campaigns delivering game stats and team-specific content in 32 unique campaigns for the various football associations.
The Marketing Maverick Award
The Marketing Maverick Award celebrates campaigns going above and beyond, including taking risks or trying something for the first time, in order to showcase the creativity and ingenuity that makes digital marketing so exciting. The 2023 winners are:
Smartbox for their onboarding journey, creating highly personalized and targeted campaigns for their audience, complete with zero-party data collection to engage customers.
Bioderma Laboratoire, with their partner Avanci, for their innovative customer skin quizzes, collecting customer data and tracking behaviors and purchases through interative quizzing.
The Wow Award
The ‘Wow’ Award, or our version of a crowd favorite, recognizes a campaign or submission that simply took our breath away. The 2023 winners are:
Albert Heijn, with their partner Merkle, for their ‘2022 Christmas Campaign’, delivering shopping recommendations and increased brand loyalty through games and dynamic experiences.
Würth France, for their campaign strategy to attract and retain new customers using personalized product recommendations, abandoned cart triggers, and custom loyalty programs.
